The League of American Bicyclists has designated that Planet Bike is a Platinum-level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB). This is the highest recognition in the League’s BFB program and Planet bike is among a group of only 42 other companies in the United States to have earned the Platinum distinction.

The League of American Bicyclists is the nation’s oldest bicycle advocacy organization and the goal of their BFB program is to encourage and assist businesses to create more bicycle-friendly workplaces. The hope is that when companies make more accommodations for bicyclists, employees are healthier, happier and more committed to sustainable business practices.

Planet Bike becomes only the third business in the state of Wisconsin to earn the Platinum status. In 2010, the company was recognized as a Gold-level BFB. Since that time, we have remained committed to improving its bicycle-friendly business environment. In addition to offering amenities like indoor bike parking, work bench and a shower.  Newly added initiatives include Wrench Buddy and Bike Buddy programs, company bikes for staff or visitors, and staff volunteer days at local bicycle non-profit organizations.

Becoming a Platinum BFB complements Planet Bike’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its ongoing support of bicycle advocacy programs across the country. To date, the company has donated $2.3 M to local, state and national bicycle advocacy groups.
